There are several dental issues that could require the removal of teeth. The most common reason to remove teeth is due to extensive teeth decay, teeth fracture, malposition or gum disease. During your oral examination Dr. Joseph Mascaro evaluates the positioning of the tooth and makes recommendation for best extraction and post extraction options, if necessary.
Depending on the position of the tooth and whether or not it’s clearly visible in the mouth, many extractions can be done without any need for incisions. If the tooth is not in clear view, a surgical extraction might be used to remove the tooth. In the case of a surgical extraction, a small incision is made in the mouth to remove the tooth and any of its broken pieces.
